Hi, I agree about anti d's being a bad idea for bipolar patients, even when you take a mood stabiliser.. I've been there and done it and ended up manic.. I still beg my doctor to give me them when I am stuck in a depression but he never does..
I have also stopped taking meds abruptly.. but ended back on them. I understand why you have done it, I think a lot of us have done it..
How long has it been since you stopped them? If its been a few weeks it looks like you have been very lucky not to have side effects..when I stopped meds before I was lucky too, I only had trouble sleeping and hot and cold sweats.
The main thing is, that when you stop taking meds it upsets the chemistry in your brain..the main withdrawal symptom I had was a return of the symptoms I was being treated for..
I'm not lecturing because I don't believe you should have been put on them, but I can't condone stopping meds like this. You aren't happy with your meds and your docs should be Informed, I'm sure he/she would rather change your meds to something you're willing to take, rather than you not being on any at all, just tell the truth..he/she will have heard it all before as its very common in bipolar patients..
I'm sorry nobody replied but don't take it personally, it can be quieter on here at weekends, people are busy with their families.
Take care
Hugs
