is there a certain medication for bi-polar? if so what is it?

There are too many to list. They are usually used as combinations to treat different parts of the disorder. The average person with Bipolar Disorder is on 3 medications. They fall into different catagories too.

Unfortunatley its pretty much trial and error with the meds, differernt 1s work for different people, also depends on what type of bipolar you have as well.

You'll hear names of drugs like Lithium, Depakote, Lamictal,and the list goes on and on. I think what you need to do first is see a psychiastrist for a diagnosis. There are different forms of Bipolar and different meds to treat each kind. So this is a tough question to answer. A good doc would be my first stop though.
