help!

i am severely depressed and agitated at the same time. i feel like I am in hell.  I cant tolerate noise or people moving around me making subtle noises.  the sound of the baby crying is penetrating my nerves so deep, its unbearable. i am taking anti-depressants again. i cant see a doctor until the 8th. my only psychiatrist is gone now for good. i cant go to the emergency room because they will bill me thousands of dollars to just give me a benzo. my tire is flat on my car, i just feel helpless.

I do not want to advocate self-changing of a dosage of medication normally, but in an emergency you might want to slightly increase your dosage of the Lexipro by a half dose until you can get in.  Living in hellish torment because you serotonin levels are out of proper regulation is more dangerous than a slight increase in Lexipro dosage.  If this doesn't work or you feel it is making things worse, discontinue.  Do not, however, increase beyond this half extra dose.  What makes you feel better when the serotonin levels re-establish can make you feel far worse if you over do it.  This is why doctors are very slow to increase SSRI dosages.

Oh, tell me we don't need universal health care.  Cripes.

I am currently a patient at a low cost clinic, but out of nowhere the only psychiatrist they have is no longer there. I went to a emergency room twice a few years ago when I had a nervous breakdown, they did absolutely nothing just gave me ativan and sent me home, then billed me a couple thousand dollars, i had to go through all this hassle for them to waive the fee. I feel like the emergency room would be a big waste of time. I guess i will try and hold out to the 8th for when i see the doctor. i just feel like i have these ignorant doctors that dont know what they are doing. i havent even been properly evaluated.

There should be a mental health clinic somewhere that would accept a fee on a sliding scale. As well in an emergency room you could be eligible for emergency Medicaid which would transition into standard Medicaid. As it seems like treatment is not adjusted properly and/or may need to be changed within a psychiatrist's discretion best to seek help now.
