I have been on all these meds but so far the right combo has not been found that works for me. I cut again last night and the night before, not for pain but for relief of pain and maybe for a physical manifestation of the disease. am still in unbelievable emotional pain and need help getting through this time. this particular bout of depression has lasted a year. have been living with it for thirty years but this is the worst ever. am on lithium, manerix (maoi), amytryptiline (tricyclic), thyroxine, rivotril and xanax as needed. Just started the thyroxine this week so hope it works but no luck yet.

thanks both of you for help. it means so much just to know someone understands where i'm coming from. i've stopped cutting at least (weirdly one cut was shorter than the other so i had to make it the same length!). Increased the thyroxine yesterday so again hoping it will be the one that makes a difference. will have to wait and see. still very low and upset with life in general. it just all seems too much to deal with.

I used to 'scratch' (I use that term lightly) 8 years ago & we played the rotate the meds game. What worked for me, may not work for you, or anyone else. I took & still take 30 mg. of Abilify, and they just added Cymbalta 60 mg. My seizure meds they are weaning me off of so those aren't working.I was hurting inside & wanted it to reflect. BUT, this too shall pass. I switched psych's, and made myself go in alone, my 'ex' went with me before. That was part of the problem. Then she began to save me. I was that desperate. Now, I don't 'scratch' anymore, and even went off nerve meds, now I feel sad at the point I was in. I feel like a fog has lifted & for the most part I want to see thru it...good luck! Tres

Hang on in there, new medications are coming along.

What dosages are you on?

We are all different,I dont know about rivotril and xanax together, that would make me feel down I think
