is ritalin an effective anit depressant medication?

my doctor has prescrbed Ritalin as a replacement for anti depressant mediction (medication) and it seems to be working effectively. i am on 20mg ritalin 15mg abilify and 1500mg lithium----this combo of drugs seems to be controlling the illness!

ritalin is a stimulant and can lift you from a down state, give you alertness and a short term energy spurt. The rest should help you stay in control. Good for you!
