lamictal,xanax.methadone taken together??

i go to the pdoc friday ive got the stater pack for lamictal..have had it for 5 weeks from my gpdoc..i decided to just waite to see the pdoc  he was waiting on my records to come in..now i go this friday..im taking the lamictal with me..if im just hypo manic and depressed this should help me..when i took lithiem it did great for me..so im the only one who knows what im going threw a pdoc these days are much, much difft then in the past 20 yrs or more..physiologist are the diagnoses..a pdoc is more into knowing the meds..i have this strong feeling hes going to put me on another benzo like klonpin witch i took them for 12 yrs prior to the xanax...the methadone and xanax been on both of  for 5 yrs the same time was put on the methadone with know problems..i take 40 mgs of methadone and avg 3 mgs of xanax aday..this controls the anxietys and panic is the worst..have had it since 1989..i dont get it much.. but when im maina nothing stops that including the xanax....

what im asking whats the lamictal going to do adding another depressant to the 2 im on......the lithem never bothered me t all with these 2 meds...... my gpdoc told me if this pdoc dont workout come to see him he will stable me once again.....if someone would have guided me in the 1st place i would have seen a therpaist or psychologist!!  everyone said you need to see a pdoc..well its taken me 3 yrs to find one that takes the medicare card..and they hate the paperwork..its like they discrimanate agaisnt me cuz of something that i cant control the states policy..so this whole time my gpdoc took good care of me.. to keep me above water

i cant see a pdoc saying this is what you are or not right off the bat!!  they might be trained but i can se testing give then a better ideal..when i was put on dissabilty they sent me to a state funded phyclogist..then awarded me as having a nervous condishion

As for potential medication interactions ask your psychiatrist to look it up while you are there. They have access to a physician only database that will explain it. Lamictal is a full mood stabilizer not just an anti-depressent. Klonopin might be used instead of Xanax because its longer lasting. Ask them about all this. I'm sure they considered it but if you want to know about medication interactions and potential side effects they can access the exact information and explain it to you.
