lithium

my mood swings are starting to get worse.  i have been on three different types of meds.  this last one is lithium and seraqueol.  i dont want to be takin off the seraqueol since it helps me sleep, but my moods are getting bad.  is it possible that my system is getting too use to these meds, and will i have to ultimately get switched?

Hi there,
I have taken lithium for almost ten years now. Have taken it with many antidepressants including naturals. Right now I m on lithium and seroquillxr. Dreams appear to be a little wacky and the seroquill seems to break through around early evening where I get a little off...cranky.  So I'd say no you can't grow accustom to the lithium for sure. Maybe the seroquill but I doubt it. Alcohol can lessen the effects of antidepressants.

Like a lot of people, I've tried many different meds for mood stabilization over the years. Lithium, neurotonin, carbamazepine etc. Some work better than others....but they don't all work the same for everybody. It can be quite a long proccess, finding out what works best for you. Don't get too dis-heartened. I think we all go through the same thing. Just accept it :)

i have been having wacky dreams too, but i dont think mines from the meds (could be that they are making them worse) but i have been having wacky, messed up, ducked up dreams for years (since i was a child).

@ piggymalone i think a different med other than lithium may be in order...idk
