I was on lorazepam for over two yrs at 5 mg. My docs stopped it all at once without any weaning period at all. I thought I would really suffer but it comes out of your system really fast and there are hardly any physical problems with such a withdrawal. It's worse problems are the fears you face thinking you can't do without it. That's what causes the near panic attacks etc. It's a very good drug for short term use(2/3 days) but has no medical effects whatsoever after a month or two. Get off it asap. You'll feel so much better.

My doc switched me from lorazepam to clonazepam, reducing the dose.  I think the duration is longer with clonazepam so you don't have to take as much.  The only drawback for me was it left me feeling dopey.  And my wife said I didn't act like myself.  I take 3mg of lorazepam a day.
