I know the meds we all take have many side effects.  I was wondering if any of the meds cause severe acne problems.  I am in my 30s and still have acne problems.  Please help.

I just came online to ask the same question, I only started my meds a couple of days ago and already seem to have the worse acne I have had in years, is this normal, is it a full time thing or just my body adjusting to the meds?

Hey, me too. My skin has never been perfect but for the last few months I've been like a spotty teenager. I've spent a fortune on teenage spots creams and lotions but seem to have loads of blocked pores which turn into painful big lumps of spots.
I'm on quetiapine, citalopram, reboxetine and benzos, also omeprazole and laxatives and a mulivit daily. My diet is small but very well balanced with fresh fruit/veg/wholemeal and fibre and I don't eat much carbs or fat.
I've had to blame the meds. My peripheries get very blue and cold but centrally I get hot and sweaty (a little) my skin is generally dry and sometimes itchy and my hands get cracked and sore.  I reckon reboxetine and quetiapine may be to blame but this is a gut feeling and I can't find literature to back it up.

I'm on Seroquel and before I was on many other medications... my skin used to be crystal clear and now I have skin problems.... I went to my dermatologist and am currently using Suphera cream... it's a face mask that inhibits the growth of bacteria, and it really seems to be working... the only problem I find with it, is that I can't get it onto my back and shoulders.... even my neck is breaking out.... I hate that... because it almost seems like it's a trade off....  let's see... mental stability or beautiful skin.....  thankfully the cream seems to be working pretty well.... I would ask about it with your dermatologist... SUPHERA Cream......

meds: cymbalta, zyprexa (recently upped dose and broke out even more!), glucophage (for diabeties), xanax, tricor (for cholesterol), multivitamin, and fish oil

I have been to a dermatologist but the stuff he gave me didn't work.

try getting your dermatologist to give you Suphera cream... topical... only use three to five times a week... it's a mask you leave on for about 10 min.....  it has worked for me, and I 'm surprised because everything else didn't.... also try using Aveno products (the ultra calming facial cleaners is nice) or the moisturizing cleansing bar.... use minimal moisturizer (aveno again)......
