milk in breast!!!!!!

my doctor discontinued risperdal because it caused milk in my breast. that was june 8.......... well i still got milk in my breast.... now what?

That most probably is prolactin elevation which can cause female hormones to increase in males so that there is sexual dysfunction and pain in the nipple area. Having discharge from the nipples can occur too. I did experience that when I was on standard antipsychotics and its a common side effect. It depends on its severity. Having breast milk is rare but that can happen. It should go away in time. However keep your doctor informed and they will follow up. If they changed you to another medication that can cause it then it might not. However if they didn't and you still need a mood stabilizer this is a list and you could discuss with them what options would be less likely to cause that:

well now im on abilify 10mg at night and that keeps me up half the night....... butb i just want the milk to go away.......

probably it will away with time. risperidone is known to cause that. abilify causes some anxiety. nothing is perfect you know. i am on seroquel which is good though but yes can cause a lot of other effects

Abilify can be activating. That is one side effect some people experience. It is less likely statistically than Risperdal to cause this effect but all (currently available) antipsychotics have this potential. See if it improves and if not speak to your doctor about what to do at that point. It would take some time for that effect to pass if you changed medications.
