my man raged on me and kids after drinkinking on new meds

would you prescribe prozac and remeron and clonopin to a male with a history of violence and alcohol abuse?

We are not doctors here so not sure. But this sounds like a big concern. You need to talk to a professional right away. Abuse is never okay, even when a person has an illness. Also drinking and medication do not mix well and often when people are ill they may use drugs or alcohol to self-medicate.

If you are unable to talk to him directly you need to speak with his doctor, and if you can't speak with his doctor, you need to find someone to talk to for yourself and the safety of you and your kids.

It's hard telling but I was put on Geodon and then Risperdal and finally Abilify and I have a history of alcohol abuse and you're not supposed to drink while on any of those and I never did anything like that but those are different medications and I am a different person altogether.  I would say if he doesn't normally do this ever while intoxicated something is out of whack there but some people have a tendency to eventually turn violent no matter what while being drunk.  Best thing to do would be to ask his doctor.  Psych meds and alcohol combined can increase the effects of each other.

I take Klonopin but it should be noted that there are specific concerns about its use (and any benzos) for anyone who has a substance abuse issue because of its potential for addiction and that should be noted to whatever psychiatrist this person is seeing and then the psychiatrist can make a decision within their discretion.

ILADVOCATE brings up a point I forgot to mention... I was told by my mental health care providers that benzos and alcohol are closely related chemically.
