piracetam and bipolar

I have heard that the nootropic, piracetam, has had some positive effects in people with bipolar.  Has anyone here had any experience with it?

Piracetam is in Europe approved as an anti-convulsant. In the United States it is now under stricter regulation because of certain companies that sell supplements mislabeling it and it being misused. I take it under medical supervision for tardive dyskinesia and it has shown some efficacy in this area in standard studies. However it is activating and can sometimes cause personality changes so unless there is a clinically determined reason to take it its best avoided. I am not aware of its use for bipolar. However there are related compounds that are in standard study for psychiatric purposes. There is also an FDA approved anti convulsant Keppra that is sometimes prescribed for off label use for bipolar by psychiatrists that is chemically in the same family as Piracetam.
