Sometimes my meds for sleep don't always work. I have to look at different factors though, did I have a stimulant (even chocolate) or carbs before bed. Did I have a super stressful day? Any hypomania?  Did I eat too late in general? Too much sleep the night before.

I know with the meds I'm on,( I take trazadone). I take it and hit the hay in 30min or less, if I'm in an active environment, even playing on the computer, it's keeping your brain active. Make sure your sleep space is calm. No book reading or tv watching (hard one for me). As my pdoc said, beds are for sleep and sex. I do watch really dull tv shows, they tend to put me to sleep, but I would never tell my shrink I do that, I would be tisk tisked :)

I hope this helps, and hope you have happy snoozing when you get there.

See if that keeps happenning and if so speak to your psychiatrist. Lunesta is non addictive but being related to benzodiazepenes after a while it can lose its effectiveness. You could also ask about Rozerem which being related to melatonin adjusts the sleep cycle and has less of a potential to loss effectiveness over time. And also there are some general books and ideas on sleep hygeine that can help you establish regular sleeping habits that will help as well.
