slipped during tapering

I was on a tapering dose of 0.5 mg of Risperdal and had a week left to stop it but due to a lot of anxiety I took an additional 1 mg dose of Risperdal today.Does it mean that I have to start from scratch and again take an extra week"s 0.5 mg to complete 2 weeks at 0.5 mg or is it alright for me to continue to taper and stop Risperdal after 7 days as advised by my Psychiatrist.My Psychiatrist is out of town and is unavailable.I have had no psychotic symptoms since 4 months and am also currently on Tegretol as mood stabilizer.

Thanks adel.I will continue to taper and not take any more extra doses.I stop it on 22nd November and after that I resume tapering Xanax.currently I am taking 0.75 mg at night.My Pdoc has advised to reduce Xanax by 0.125 mg a week(1/2 of 0.25 mg tablet) till I stop that too as he says it is habit forming.

it's alright and continue to taper as advised by your pdoc

xanax is better for anxiety so long as you don't get the habit, because anxiety is on and off it's like you crave for alcohol once everynow and then to get drunk or drowsy. i assume so long you don't have psychosis it's a good sign, continue
