tegretol, lamictal and weird side effect?

Hello,

bipolar, lamictal 150mg 1xday, tegretol 200mg 2xday (400mg total). Ever since i started the tegretol, things are great, but there is this weird side effect in the back of my mouth enveloping my entire throat, tongue, etc.  Nothing I can't deal with, nothing food and/or a valium/ativan as instructed can't solve, but it leads to grinding and other annoyances.

Has anyone else even remotely heard of anything closely resembling this?  I can't find anything about this anywhere and anyone ive spoken to hasn't mentioned anything close.  I'm just looking for anyone for anyone who might be able to share a similar experience, not necessarily a resolution.

I'm not frightened its a tumor or anything bad; i know it isn't.

You need to go have your thyroid checked immediately.  Have them run blood work and do physical exam on your throat to make sure it does not have nodules that are constricting.  Causes swelling in throat and involves the tongue at times.

already been done, all normal etc..., and as a matter of fact, was recently done within the last week.

My only other thought would be some kind of allergy that is making it swell back there.  Some times these affects from allergies are accompanied by a white film on the tongue.  Mine comes with blisters on the back of my tongue, roof of the back of my mouth, or around my back teeth.
