by crazzydemon, Apr 28, 2008 06:07AM
hi here people i went and seen my doctor today as everyone kept telling  me it sounded like a thyroid problem by its self or as well as my bipolar i went to doctor and asked for blood test to question about my thyroids he said those test's should have been done and for some unknowen reason where not ordered by the doctor in his practice or the sycoligist and should have been, he took one look at me and said he didnt need blood test as my throught to look at where your thyroids are is all swallen and said he beleaved it was thyroid related so he ordered the blood tests anyway now im waiting on the resalts, he also told me that if you have bipolar you usually end up with thyroid related problems and this doctor should have run all of those test's and didnt and  now is in trouble for not looking into my medical condition properly as she thought it was a hyprocondreact, she looks like getting the sack from the doctors surgey where i go and have been going for year's so hopefully now i can get proper answers to my illness, he said i do have bipolar i also have 6 fibroids(tuma's) in my uturas, and now this thyroid issue, everything seems to be going wrong with me and my body but the thing i look forward to is getting some propper anwers and put on the right medication/s what ever it might be so to all of you i thankyou from the bottom of my heart

Come over to the thryoid board. there are lots of good folks wwho can help you through this. I am thryoidless myself and I take levothyroixine. I had a giant goiter that was doing the same thing to me as yours is doing to you. Mine had cancer in it so I am glad I got rid of it.
Let us know your test results and post thme here. we can help you with them andhelp you ask the right questions You are on the road to getting better now.

You know for what it's worth my Grandmother had to kill her thyroid with radioactive dye and she lived with no thyroid for 30 years, never had a problem. So it can be done. My grandfather had a goiter and he had to be on thyroid meds all his life but he never suffered or had problems with it.
I think it's fairly common, I think the post above is right, see the thyroid board, they know way more than we do!
Glad you're on your way to better health!!
