I have been in therapy for about 8 years now with my present therapist. I went through several therapist and psychiatrist before I have my present ones .
when my current therapist asked me what I wanted to get out of the therapy that made me stop and think.Nobody had ever asked me that before. So after thinking for a good long while I wrote down somethings that i wanted to overcome and we wnet from there.
Have you asked yourself what you want to get out of therapy? With fear of socializing I would think that is something you would like to work on. Just a thought.
the thing about BPD is that you can be in charge and not the BPD It took me a while to figure that out Yeah I am bi polar yeah its scarey but You arent aloneeven though it can feel like it( I found out just recently that there are 3 of us bi polars working in the same shop)
I will also say that bi polar is what makes us a unique  individual. Look at Robin Williams, Patti Duke and other successful bi polars. They have taken their uniqueness and made it their specialiy.I mysself would not be the successful creative loving person that I am today without the bi polar helping me.
So sorry I didnt mean to go so long. talk to your therapist aabout what you want to get out of the therapy and be honest with them. Tell them what you  have told here.Maybe its time for a change of therapist or something different .
Good luck dont be a stranger and let us know how you are.

Thanks for the feedback. That was nice of you. I only work pt and it is a curse where I work to have anykind of mental defects. I like my current therapist very much, but I'm tired of the ups and downs and the med changes. My therapist keeps me in check...we never run out of things to cover. I agree wtith you that it feels like your alone in this disorder, but I know that alot of people have it.   Thanks again,
JAsmine

I have limited therapy with my pdoc, my condition is helped mostly with the meds.  When I'm feeling really bad we discuss it and he can usually help me see things in a different light so I change my way of thinking, and feel better.  But I can't do without the meds.  I've been battling this for 35 years and it's a constant dance of up, down, old meds, new meds, good days, bad days -- it's a real bummer.
