tiredness

Hi there just wondering if anyone out there has experienced extreme tiredness with the olanzapine 7.5 mg at night night

While I have not taken it, I know that a good deal of the antipsychotics out there, including olanzapine, can cause sedation.  Antipsychotics can also be activating where they will cause insomnia if you take them before falling asleep.  I'm sure there are people here who have taken it and experienced sedation.

Yes Zyprexa was extremely sedating for me. I slept 10 hours a day on it. Out of all the antipsychotics Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are generally the least sedating but each person responds differently to each medication.

Hi, Im on zyprexa olanzapine 5mg, and when I first went on them It would make me very drowsy and pretty much knock me out a few hours after taking them! this caused problems at first as if I took them too late and then went to sleep before they kicked in, I would sleep right through my alarm, I quickly adopted what time I should take them and stuck at about 7pm to get to sleep for 11pm - 12am.  Before I was on olanzapine I couldnt sleep till 4am after going to bed at 11pm and having my eyes closed for all that time whilst trying to sleep, the problem was was that my mind was racing, and couldnt turn off.  Now I am working night shifts and it has really caused problems with my bi-polar and sleeping, its as if my tablets no longer work, so I shall be going onto a higher dosage maybe.

But yes, I do get very tired from olanzapine!
