Lovebird "horny"stage

Lovebird "horny"stage

My single peach-faced lovebird (not sure of the sex, seems like a male) has free reign of the house but gets tucked into his cage every night.  Lately my bird gravitates to our bathroom towel rack every few moments at a time and goes crazy rubbing on the towel wearing it out and regurgitating food on it and has also gotten friendly with a teddy bear.  With me as a female, my bird also does a clicking sound and tries to rub on me on occasion.  My concern is that he is doing it quite a lot and may be in pain or suffering. I notice a slight limp when he walks around and he occasionally makes a squack like a baby squeeze toy and I find his throw up all over his beak.
I just want to know if this is normal behavior, is this a male bird behavior, and would it require another bird or not, or to see a specialist. Otherwise, he seems fine and I just hope it's just a phase.

Thanks, Monz

Thanks for your response.. will offer a bath tray.  Have done it when he was younger but seemed to ignore it.  He has been getting his bath occasionally when we use the sink to do dishes, where we stands on a sink ledge and karate chops at the water to get it to his feathers and if he lets us, we sprinkle water on his head 'til he's saturated enough. Otherwise, we have to grab him and spray Feather Glo on him and massage it into his feathers at least once a week which he does not appreciate too much.
