We are pleased to announce that we have a NEW Ask a Veterinarian Forum where you can post your pet-health questions and receive answers from Aleda Cheng, D.V.M.
Dr. Cheng is graciously volunteering her time and expertise to answer your questions at:
I recently rescued ababy bird from my cat. It wasn't hurt, she was just playing with it. It is still extremely young, it doesn't have feathers and its eyes are still closed. It is still transparent.
I was wondering, what can I do to help this baby bird? What should I feed it? I think it may be a robin baby because there has been robin shells dropped around our front yard. Also we have barn sparos nesting in our garage, so it may be a barn sparo too.
I think if you guys want to post to Dr. Cheng, you need to go back to the forums page and click on the Ask A Vet forum, located just above the Birds forum.
Good morning - to get to the ask a vet forum, click on the link to the right of this page. Most likely your bird should be seen by a vet. It may be an irritation from rubbing her beak between the bars of the cage or it could be something more serious. Only your vet can tell you for sure.
