Another Yaz Question

My gynea has switched me from Nordette to Yaz a little more than a year ago. Since then, my periods haven't been 100% regular and it also differs a lot with how heavy it is. So based on this, I'm either 4 days late (heavy periods) or 1 day late (very light, almost no bleeding). I've been taking my pill religiously since I started back in 99.
Should I be worried that I just have extreme cramps and no bleeding?

Hi there!

+/- 4-5 days may not be categorized as irregular periods since this is the expected variation. Combined birth control pills usually make the menstruation a bit lighter, though a few women ay experience slightly heavier periods. However if the bleeding is much heavier than regarded normal, a gynaecological evaluation to look for secondary causes may be required. Cramps may occur a few days prior to menstruation or during menstruation under the effect of hormones. These occurring other than, around menstruation or being severe may also need an evaluation by a gynaecologist for appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
