BC pills killing my sex drive

by nunu06, May 13, 2009 02:56PM
Ive been on birth control for a while, but at my last OBGYN appointment i think she changed my BC pills and lately my sex drive has been at 0, meaning i never want it, and when i do want it, my body doesnt catch up to my mind. I was wondering should i switch pills or try a different contraceptive because it is starting to affect my relationship. Any thoughts out there...?

I think they do affect your sex drive without a doubt. All people are different...so maybe some it does not affect, while others it does. I am one of those who it is also affecting.  I'm actually thinking of just going off it for awhile and see if I notice a difference. My OBGYN told me that if I thought that would help me, then to go off it for 3 months and pay attention to my body and see if I notice any changes.

I'm 26 and Ive been on BC for 8 years! So I'm kinda ready to go off it. Im just concerned or worried that I'll end up get preg if I stop. I am married and we really are not quite ready for a baby yet.

But if you think its the BC thats causing your low sex drive, then talk to your Dr and switch or stop taking them.

I have the same thing with Yaz. I have been on it for 1 yr and noticed a huge change in my drive. I want to get off it and switch to a different pill. I was on Ortho Tricyclen for years and never had a problem.
