Can you still get pregnant if your on the pill but you have sex while your on your period? Does the pill still work if your on your period because I know that the period pills are just sugar pills?

yes you can get pregnant on the pill

yes you can get pregnant on your period if your having unprotected sex. its not likely but can happen that you ovulated again...but not likely

if you dont want to be pregnant and are worried about your birth control....then you need to use condoms in addition

Yes, the pills still work through out the whole month, including the ones you take while on your period. That's just to keep you regular on taking the pills. As long as you've been on the pills for at least a month or more and are consistent with taking them, not missing any, then the pill is one of the most affective birth control there is. It's about 97-97% affective. If you're still worried, it couldn't hurt to us a backup method. I was on the pill off and on for several years and it worked very well for me.
