Continuous bleeding after stopping the pill. Is this normal?

Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone has been though this.
I'm 18, I stopped taking the pill on the 25th of November 2016. I usually start bleeding a little bit after a day of not taking it. I had been on it continuously from April 2016 until November 2016 without any breaks as I asked if it would be ok to do so and my doctor said yes. The pill was leostrin30. Anyway, I didn't start bleeding until Christmas Day, i had severe lower back pain and the normal period pains but they were a lot more painful. I was having to use thick pads and changing every 30 minutes or so. It's not stopped yet and it's now the 24th of January. Does anyone know what this could be? Could it be withdrawal from the pill or something else? I'm very careful and have been checked for any sti's as I'm really paranoid and I'm clean (just thought I'd throw that in there) I would go to see a doctor/nurse but it's really difficult to get seen by them as they hardly seem to have any appointments! I feel so weak and always tired because of this. Any answers would be good.

Thanks in advance! X
