Depression and Mood Swings with Birth Control

I was suffering with what I think was PMDD for the past 6 months ago, I got moody, irritable, sad, depressed, etc for the entire week or so before my period...gradually it even seemed to develop into a longer period of time...then after my period I would feel "perfect".  I have no medical insurance, so I kind of self-diagnosed myself, and went to Planned Parenthood to inquire about a good birth control option to help me with the symptoms.  She prescribed me with Sronyx, as a substitute for Yaz, told me I could take it continously like Yaz, and it would balance my hormones.  The first 3 weeks were fine.  However, pretty much from the day I would have gotten my period, I started spotting, and it just got worse.  It has been 3 weeks now, and spotting turned into sometimes a heavier bleeding, then about a week in, I have been getting very moody again...and its just gotten worse...I have had suicidal thoughts, really depressed, very angry, its like I can "feel" the frustration, but I can't control it...I have no idea why these birth control pills would be causing me to feel worse if they are supposed to make me feel better.  I stopped taking them yesterday, and I still feel terrible...I have never felt this depressed in my life.  I never sleep during the day, and I fell asleep both days this weekend....I just have a hard time dealing with life in general these days.  This is not like me at all....I was thinking perhaps my progesterone is too high based on the times of the month I feel bad, or my estrogen is low, but I really don't know.  I have a call into Planned Parenthood, but I don't know if they can help me.   Has anyone gone through this or have any advice?
