Natural Family Planning is the method with the fewest side effects. Here is a good site for more information:

If you want to use something else in addition, you could consider a barrier method such as condoms or diaphragm. These methods also have minimal side effects. As you move up on the scale of effectiveness, you will also move up in terms of side effects, although most are bearable for most people.
