Hi , I am 27 yr old female. I am getting married in few weeks so I started birth controlling pills recently. However I have following questions/doubt regarding them. Could you all help me to clarify them? Thanks in advance
How effective are pills? Do they work immediately or take weeks and months to be 100 % reliable and effective?
Do birth control pills make you gain weight?
Precautions I should take when taking pills?
Birth control pills are very effective in preventing pregnancy. If taken correctly and regularly they are almost 99.9% effective in preventing pregnancy.OC pills have some advantages as well as disadvantages. Few birth control pills may lead to weight gain. While taking the pills you need to be careful to take them every day and at the same time daily. Start each new pack within 5 days of the start of a menstrual period. If you start pills 6 days or more after the start of a period you may need condoms, abstinence or outercourse for the next 7 days. Indulge in a healthy diet and exercise dailly. In cases of more doubts consult your gynecologist and get your doubts clarified. Do keep me posted.
Take care and regards!
Birth control pills are highly effective and are the most widely used methods of contraception. Their effect is almost immediate. Only in the first 15 days of starting the pills, an additional method like condoms is advisable. For pills to be effective they should be taken regularly without missing any. If missed the pill should be taken as soon as possible. In the event of missing two or more pills additional methods like condoms should be used. Birth control pills have some side effects, weight gain being one of them.
Hope this helps.
