I am very thankful you replied to this. I needed to be aware of that. Wow. I hope everything turns out okay for you.
Hi, strangely I found this looking for something else.
I have just had my implanon implant removed, after having it for two years. I am 28, a P.H.D student and very healthy usually. I have developed a breast lump and polycystic ovary symptoms ( i know you are born with this syndrome, which I wasn't, but the symptoms can be mimiced by Implanon).
After some research, I now find that too many people have reported these problems after using Implanon. I find this very very worrying myself-- no-one warned me about these potential problems at all before I developed them. And yet, after developing these symptoms I am told that it isn't that uncommon from Implanon.
Certainly, in England, doctors seem unaware of the real effects of Implanon, as it is relatively new here.Try putting 'implanon breast lump' into google and you will find plenty of horror stories, usually from America, where it has been around longer.
I only mention this stuff to you, not to necessarily put you off, but simply because these are things that I have developed, and that I, and my American O.B.G.Y.N, put down to the use of Implanon.
Thank you for sharing. That's exactly what I am scared of... Was it constant bleeding or just heavier bleeding when you had your regular cycle?
i used the implanon after i had my twins i hated it with a passion..i bleed like crazy, mood swings like crazy, and also had bad pains in my arm and cramps..but it all depends on the person
Thank you ladies. I will look into both of these options a little more. Still want to hear a little more about personal experiences with the Implanon though. (I'm really glad to hear good news about it so far.)
Have you thought about the mini pill? It's perfect gor women who are going to breastfeed their babies. Look into that option too.
Hi, implanon can be used for women who breastfeed but there is a certain time you have to wait after the baby is born before you get it put in....cant remember tho, i think its something like a month, but i could be wrong.
Honestly, implanon isnt for everybody, but the only way to find out is if you actually try it. Ive had it in since september last year and its been brilliant. i have had small moments of weepiness that i cant explain and pregnancy symptoms, although very mild. i dont get periods...ive only had a couple of brown spots every now and then. i dont think its making me put on weight but i think its holding my weight, i cant seem to get to that slim body i had after leaving school! lol
I do know that womens' periods can go either way with the implant, or they can be normal.
Now a couple of my uni friends have gotten it and it seems to be working for them pretty well.
My advice is to give a it a go, if it doesnt work then you can get it taken out and everything goes back to normal pretty much straight away. if it works its FAB!
