Is the pill still effective when I'm on my period?

Hello. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years now and started having sex about a year ago. We always use two forms of birth control; I'm on the pill and he wears a condom. Last night, the condom broke. I'm on the pill, like I said, but also at the end of my period. Is the pill still as effective when I'm on my period? Should I get Plan B? Am I freaking out over nothing? Please help.

I've been on the pill (orth tri cyclen) for 8 years and my husband and I have unprotected sex all the time. We've never had any scares or reasons for concern. As long as you take the pill everyday you should be fine. Hope that put your mind at ease. :-)

usually you can't get pregnant while you are on your period, because you aren't ovulating until awhile after your menstrual cycle. That said, yes the pill is still effective while you are on your period. As long as you aren't missing pills then it will always be effective.

ok me and my partner been together three years we wanted to start trying for a baby so i stopped the last to pills in my packet and had sex within two days of the missed pills had a four day break through bleed (but normally not due till sat and i started on wed) (sex was mon) if u r with me.......
is their a high risk i can still b preg even though ive had a break through bleed??
little worried as his walked out on me now out the blue aswell ! shocked but really need to b sure on this!
