Is this normal with the Depo shot?

so, i received my first Depo shot around May... and i got another dose three months later in July sometime. When i first started out on the shot, i did spot for a couple weeks or so, then it stopped the rest of the time I've been on it. anyways, about 7 or 8 days ago, i started getting some bleeding, but this time it wasn't spotting, it was heavier. it seems like my actual period, but i have no clue why I would just get it all of a sudden and be on it for this long when i am on a contraceptive. i did have unprotected sex about ten days ago, and I'm curious as to if that could possibly cause this random bleeding? i just need some answers....thanks. I came off the depot shot because I experienced bleeding every month in between periods with it so don't worry everyones body reacts defferently. Example: My friend bleed for 6 months straight after her first shot, another friend never bleed until 1 1/2 year and \i bleed everyone in between periods so you are fine.
