Length of time on oral contraceptives

by rivir, Jun 07, 2008 07:04AM
How long has everyone been on oral birth control?  What has been your experiences?

I have been on oral contraceptive for 12 years and if I stay on them I could take them for another 10 or more.  I am 26 right now.  Should I be concerned?

i never thought that oral contraceptives were for long term use.  iv always believed it causes fertility problems later on in life when the woman decides to try to have a baby.  may even cause more problems than that.
if you know that you want to go a long span of time (more than 2 years) using birth control, let me suggest to you an IUD.  they are available for 5 or 10 year placements.  its a wonderful alternative to an oral contraceptive and more "natural" so to speak
