Lo/Ovral

I have been on Lo/Ovral since March 09.  I did forget to take them for 4 day, lost my job, stress, wasn't the first thing on my mind.  When I remembered and took them, it was during the second week, I took all 4 that I missed, plus the one for that day.  I didn't take them all at one time, two one day, two the next, until I caught up.  I did have sex two days before I forgot, and sex 1 day after starting to catch up.  I haven't missed a period, they've all come on time, maybe one day later than normal.  I had two months of very thick dark "old" looking blood, that only lasted one day.  For those two months I had fluid out of my left breast around the time of my period.  This all happened back in June/July.  August, Sept, Oct, and Nov. have been somewhat normal periods( 3 days).  Was it because of the way I caught up on the pills that seemed to cause the period to be only one day for those two months, Aug lasted two days.
