I had the mirena iud for about 6 yrs, I got it removed on 11/16/2009 because my husband and I are ttc#3. I got my first period on 12/20/09 and today I started my period again I has not even been 28 days since last is this normal?
It would be common sense, if my doctor gave me anything, all he gave me was the IUD, no information, nothing. he has not been that great of a doctor, and is why I've been searching for another doctor. So no, it is not common sense to me.
To answer your last question, if you read the article that your doctor gave you about the IUS, it states the hormones levels decrease after 4 1/2-5 years and your likely hood of getting pregnant is much higher because of lack of hormones. Not sure WHY you would ask that. Just common sense.
I've had mine Since April of 2009. In August, probably because I was farely new to the Mirena IUD, I fell pregnant but lost it at 4 1/2 weeks. My doctor wouldn't remove the IUD because he felt I was going to lose it seeing I was still bf and having the IUD hormones. He told me I had a 1 out of 1000 chance to fall pregnant again. I've been charting my BBT since August, just to keep an eye on things. I'm 6dpo right now. I've not Ovulated since August, so I'm scared right now as well. I'm going to test in 3 days just to be 100% sure nothing is happening. Another thing I forgot, my doctor told me that once I already fell pregnant on the IUD, I still should test after each month just to be sure nothing was happening. Just buy the $1 tests at Dollar General or Dollar tree. But once you start getting a line, please pick up a good brand, just to be safe. Good luck and hope all is well.
BTW, the danger to having a fetus growing in with the IUD is the IUD could pop the sac and rupture, preterm labor, miscarriage. But DEF get it tooken care of if you do get a positive. IUD will NOT cause false results....good luck once again
