Mirena Removal

Hello Ladies,
Not sure if I' in the right place i'm new here and just looking for some answers!
I just had my Mirena removed 09/07/10 after having it 5 1/2 years with no period the whole time it was in.  I know every one is different, but i'm just wondering how long it had taken some of you to become pregnant?  Is there any one here that had it the same amount of time with no periods?  What was the side effects some of you may have had after removal and how long did they last?  My  symptoms with mirena were hair loss, weight gain, anxiety, tingling in hands, hot flashes, cramps, bloating and I believe I developed high blood pressure from this also.  Which could have been caused by the wieght gain.  Before mirena I was 105 I have sinced gained 40 pounds putting me at 145 I'm only 5'1.  My bra size has gone up 3 sizes.  My concern is the pegnancy thing my Dr told me as soon as its out I will be fertile but if I have not had a period in 5 1/2 years I think there might be a problem.  I didn't talk with him about this becuase over the years I had went to him with problems I was having with it he stated that none of the problems I was having had anything to do with the mirena.  Every time I went in he only tested Thyriod all test always came back negative.  I'm just happy to have the thing out.  Would just like to hear some stories.  Thanks you ladys I also have made contact with another Dr's office to see about talking with another Dr.

i will add even tho i hated it i kept the mirena in for 5 years even tho i had problems with it cause dr will tel you its not the mirena but i know it was !!!! but i had never had an infection like that before so i went ahead n had it removed n i dont itch or hurt down there any more

Hi i had my mirena 5 years n i didnt like it but i was told i wouldnt gain weight n i also had stop bleeding i had mine taken out ive gain so much weight with it n i got really depressed n moody on it  plus my blood pressure started stay up  also n i got a realy bad vaginosis infection n i went er they gave me medicine that i took on time but still didnt heal it . I just knew it was the mirena causing it i was itching so bad i cried  so i made appointment to have it taken out like a month before it was due out n the day it was taking out all my itching was gone completly n no more swelling down there also that i had with teh infection to  i knew all these problems was because of that thing but the dr wil tell you it wasnt n they wont even listen to you ! I got mines out tho  n started my period 3 days after nwas light but it would start for a day or two then stop a day then start next day or two then stop .then i got my next period after that the next month on the june 19,2011  so far i been getting my periods so we will see wat happens o n this period was heavy na bit clotty  buti wasuse to heavy periods anyways i use to have them before i had nirena put in
