I HAVE MIRENA IUD AND I'VE HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS I THINK IT'S GREAT BUT THE WORST THING ABOUT IT IS I BREAK OUT A LOT AND MY MOOD IS BAD I GET SOME BAD MOOD SWINGS AND I WASNT LIKE THIS BEFORE WHEN I DIDNT HAVE IT .SO IM READY TO GET RID OF IT .ITS A GOOD BIRTH CONTROL BUT I DIDNT LIKE SOME SIDE EFFECTS .BUT EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT AND I HAVENT GAINED WEIGHT AT ALL W/ IT " I LOST MORE WEIGHT"
I love my Mirena! This Oct. I've had it a year. I had bad cramping and bleeding for like the first month (maybe), but after that I am very pleased! I couldn't remember to take the pill daily at the same time and got a surprise pregnancy. Now, I don't have to remember anything and have excellent protection. I haven't gained weight or had any of those symptoms. I would recommend it to anyone and every lady wanting protection. Good Luck!
I have had the Mirena in for 3 years and put on around 8kg which I found extremely hard to lose, as soon as I had it taken out I put on 14kg, and have still not lost it, and have tried heaps of diets and pills, but nothing can shift the weight, my breasts get veryy sore and swell when I ovulate and have done since I had the Mirene put in. It also made me very moody and irritable. I am so glad it is out, I just hope my body goes back to normal, It has been almost a year since I had it removed.
I have Mirena and haven't had any problems with it. I think it's great, since it was always an issue for me to remember to take my pill at the same time every day. I love it! It's zero maintanence, and the only discomfort I've had was when the dr put it in.
I had a horrible experience on the IUD. I had it for a total of 10 months, and had horrible abdominal pains that literatly took my breath away. Felt like contractions. I kept on talking to my doctor about it,but she told me it's common and to wait it out a few more months. When i finally decided to get it removed, i got pregnant almost 3 weeks after i got it taken out and had a miscarriage due to the IUD. I know they say you can have kids after the IUD but in my case it wasn't. Hope this helps
I only know that you bleed more with the copper IUD.
Goodluck.
