No period and light brown discharge?

by curiousgirl09, Oct 31, 2009 12:00AM
Okay, so my doctor has me taking my birth control continuously meaning I don’t EVER have a period. I have been doing this for about 5 months now with no issues until now. My fiancé and I had unprotected sex and with in a couple of days I was feeling like my period was going to start, then I begun to have a clear, light brown discharge every once and a while. Should I be worried? It’s been about a week now.

Thx

If you are on any form of continuous birth control, there can be the occasional bout of breakthrough bleeding or spotting, even with perfect use.

Have you missed any pills?  This can sometimes cause spotting and bleeding.   If you have missed pills, you should test for pregnancy.

Spotting and changes in discharge can also be symptoms of vaginal infections, so that may be a possibility, too.

Let your doctor know, and follow any advice he/she has for you.
