Hi, I have a question... I have been on the pill for years now and take it around the same time each night. I have never had a pregnancy scare before so assume it is very effective for me. If a person has sex (without a condom) on the pill during their break, the day before their period is due, is this a risk? This happened and my peroid was two days late (i usually get it on the Saturday during my break, i got it on the Monday this time) The period was I guess normal, maybe a little heavier than usual and i did notice that it suddenly just ended (I usually get it lighter then it stops then it suddenly happens a bit more, but this time it just got lighter then stopped). I am just worrying that having had sex without a condom the day before I was due and having a later period could signify pregnancy. This was two weeks ago now and I feel fine, ie no pregnancy symptpms. If i got my period, however late it was and I took my pill correctly, does it sound like a pregnancy risk? Many thanks

You don't even need to use a condom during the break week, unless you are doing so for STD prevention (which is great!).

You are not likely pregnant, even if your period was a couple days late.  As long as you took all your pills regularly during the month, you should be protected.

However, if you are worried you could take a pregnancy test.  The pill won't interfere with the results at all.
