Skipped Period, large clots

Skipped Period, large clots

I have been on Junel a substitute for loestrin for about 2 months. I had been planning a wedding in may and realized that my cycle would run directly into our honeymoon so I tried to skip my period for a week by continuing into my next packet of pills. During this time I had brown spotting which I figured was normal breakthrough bleeding. After I started into the pills that allows my period to start ( Day 2 of my period) I started passing large , quarter sized clots everytime I sit or lay for a period of time. The bleeding is light-average with the clots. I assume it's because I tried to skip my period so soon after starting birth control ? Anyone with insight to this?

Hello,
What you are having is breakthrough bleeding which is common when you start birth control pills. Take the pills regularly and skip the inactive pills. If they persist then get it checked from a gynecologist and get the birth control changed to other forms like extended cycle birth control pills which are to be taken for 90 days.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
