Stopy my Cycle

How can I get my cycle to stop.  I am on the pill and it has been almost 4 weeks of being on my period which has never happened before.  Can I start the new pack early to stop it?

Go see a doctor first and foremost.  That's the only way to figure out what's going on for sure.  Have you been off the pill for those four weeks?  If so, why didn't you start it after the seven days?  (Not that that would have necessarily stopped it.)

How are you taking it?  Taking it straight for a few months with no placebo pill week so you only have a period once every few or just one pack at a time with a period in between?  I had to take a break from the prior method when my period started in the middle of the last pack because apparently it's normal to suddenly have long periods with the one period every few months method.  Now, I've gone back to it and am fine.

Anyway, there's too little info to make any real guesses, but definitely see a doctor because simply starting your new pack is not likely to stop it and once it got past that one week point it was longer than normal.  Now it's been going on way too long.  Call the advice nurse after making an appointment to find out if you should stop taking the birth control in the interim or if you should act like normal.

Update:

My cycle stopped when I began my new pack.  I went to the doctor, answered a bunch of questions and was told that this was a result of stress.  Thanks everyone for your advice and input.

I hope they figure it out!  I'm at a loss right now because it sounds like you were doing everything right.

Best wishes!

I have never stopped taking the pill.  I take one pill everyday as scheduled including the placebo bills.  I don't skip any of them, that is why I am so confused as to why I am still on.  This week is the week I am actually suppose to be on but the 3 weeks prior to this I should have been off.  On Sunday I start a new pack which is suppose to stop my cycle. I have an appt scheduled for next week so we will see what happens.
