What's the precentage??

I am on the pill and I had unprotected sex this afternoon. I am worried about the effectiveness of the pill, seeing as I am not on it to prevent pregnancy, but as a hormonal treatment. I am wondering what the probability of getting pregnant is. I know the pill is not 100% effective, which adds to my worries. Also, if I am pregnant, God willing I am not, but if I am, will continuing to take the pill cause me to miscarry?

I am on pills and my fiancee and I do not use condoms and we have never gotten pregnant.  It can happen, but it's very unlikely.  Even if you aren't to prevent birth control it still will, that's what it's actually for, even if that's not what you are taking it for.  It hasn't been proven but it is thought that continuing the pills can harm the baby, but it won't make you miscarriage.
In the future if you have this problem and are worried it would be a good idea to get plan B to ease your mind.  Don't just sit and stress about it though, go grab a test in a a couple weeks and see what it says.  Don't stress too much though, I am sure you're fine.
And yes, taking it at varying times will make it less effective.  Most of them are still effective as long as they are taken within a ten hour window each day.  I keep an alarm set on my phone that goes off at noon and I take it at exactly noon every day.  It's a good idea to try something like that so that your pills will be as effective as possible.

What if I don't take it at the same time every night? I take it before I go to sleep...usually before 11pm, but it varies between 9 and 11pm...does that mean it is less effective?

i dont really think criticizing her is the best option right now. the pill is over 99% effective with perfect use. thats if you take it at exactly the same time every day. however even within the same hour every day it is still very effective. they say 99% because nothing is 100% but it is almost as close as can be. that said, there are still women that get pregnant  on the pill. i dont think the pill will cause you to miscarry. it may cause harm to the baby however so you would need to stop as soon as you find out. but being on the pill makes your period pretty regular so you will know very early whether you are or arent. i would say dont worry too much though. you are most likely not pregnant. but use a condom when you can just to be careful.

if you dont want to get pregnant and are not on the pill to "prevent pregnancy" then why ar eyou having unprotected sex

you should be abstaing from sex or using condoms in addition if you would do things to make yourself miscarry or have an abortion
