Your opinions on different birth controls?

So, I'm torn on what birth control to use after my baby boy comes. I wanna do the pill, but I'm afraid I'll forget to take it. And I know the mirena is very effective but I heard that can make you infertile. I know for a fact I want another baby someday. Not for a while but definitely will want another. Any opinions on the two or other types?

I also use Mirena and I think it's great. It doesn't cause infertility so you're worrying for nothing. You can always try it and if you don't like it, take it out. But personally for me, I don't think I'd ever go back to pills again after having such a good experience with mirena.

Well you could always take the pill and he wears a condom.

The one and only thing that worries me is infertility. It was so hard for me to get pregnant and I don't want to make it any harder the second time. Whenever that may be.

This is from my experience. I used birth control pills since I began having sex. After a while I would forget to take it or wasn't taking it on time. I ended up pregnant while being careless with the pill with my 1st child. After I had her I decided to get the Mirena, I loved it. I didn't have a period the entire 1st year after insertion, but afterwards it was regular. After having it for 4 years I began to have pains in my side and tenderness in my pelvis area. Everything was fine at checkups and the Mirena always still in place. But my only option was to have it removed. After having it removed my pain stopped and 2 months later I ended up pregnant again. I'm 34 weeks now and don't know what I want to use after giving birth. I really want to chance the Mirena again. If u get it u will love it. I have friends and family that have it they all love it. Idk what was wrong with me but you should give it a try. U won't have anything to worry about.

I agree, every medication has risks and really only a small fraction of the population ever experience them.  You can always find horror stories online for absolutely everything.  :-)  I was on the merina iud before trying to conceive and plan to go back in it afterwards.  I had no side effects from it and periods stopped completely after about 5 months or so. Had used it for about 5yrs! Very very convenient since I didn't have to remember to take a pill!

I would go with the mirena out of the two choices you provided. However, I have had outstanding success with the Nuvaring for about 10 years. It is simple to use, keep it in for 3 weeks, take it out for one, then put a new one in. I had no side effects whatsoever, which was different for me than other birth control methods. It regulated my period out to where it was like clockwork. If you forget to take it out or put it back in on exact times, the risk of pregnancy is very low. I have forgotten many times over the years, but didn't end up pregnant until we planned it! :) Good luck!

All I know is EVERY birth control has its risks. I'm planning to use the mirena. So I mean whatever you choose will have negative feedback no matter what, just remember that.
