birth pills

could i take a contraceptive pill on the first day of periods as i had unprotected sex

thanks a lot for the advice.
I would get myself a ECP and ensure that my guy uses a condom the next time

On the off chance you're an early ovulator, I would take precaution in the form of an emergency contraceptive.  Just a regular birth control pill would do nothing.  There is no safe time to have unprotected sex.

no i am not on pills usually. i just had sex this morning and today is the first day of my periods. do i need to take any precaution?

If you have been on the pill for the designated time (usually at least 7 days) and have not missed and have been good about taking them about the same time daily, yes you are protected on the placebo week.  However, if you were to randomly take a pill on your period and have unprotected sex, no.
