breakthrough Bleeding Levlen

Hi,
I tried skipping the sugar pills this month, since i did this i have been bleeding like a light period beyond spotting for over a week now.. I don't know whethe i should just stop and start again on a new packet or .... have another period in a week .  I am very tired from bleeding and annoyed its lasted so long (more annoyed at myself ) for attempting it.  What do you suggest... i have been taking the pills as usual .

Hi there,

Basically your body is just trying to adjust to the new routine. You should continue your pack and have your regularly scheduled period OR you can stop your pack and let your body have a natural period and then begin a new pack (Sunday start usually works best- take it the sunday after you start your period).

The first option might leave you bleeding until your next period while the second option might clear everything up sooner.  If you want to continue to skip your sugar pills just know that it is going to take a few cycles for your body to get with the program.  Your body is used to doing the same thing every month and it just takes a little time for it to realize what is going on.  (Note that I speak from personal experience and I am not a doctor.)
