can birth controll cause weight loss

can birth controll cause weight loss? I was on numerous different kinds because i was haveing two and three cycles a month . it seemed like no matter what pill they switched me to i had the same problem and in septemember  2013i was diagnosed with overian cyst but they were tiny and doc said they were nothing to worry about. so after september i had very sever abdominal pain off and on and then about novevmeber i was haveing it on a daily basis some days was very sever other days were tolerable. well i went to the er on febuary 12th of 2014 and i had a ct scan and it showed retained fecal matter my obgyn suggested i say a gastrointestinal; doctor so i did on feb 28th told him i was haveing a lot of constipation and very sever abdominal pain and that ki had went from 123 pounds to 97 since september well march 14th i had a cololoscophy and endoscopy done and they gi doctor said everything was normal and diagnosed me with irritable bowel syndrum and he have me meds to regulate my stools, they make me go about 4 times a day and i am out of the linzess which is a med for irritable bowels syndrum and im going to see how i do, i hate to rely on medicine  to help me go to the bathroom. i also just went off birth controll 4 days ago because of haveing the 2 cycles and sometimes three a month and because of the weight loss i eat all the time and eathealthy.  but now i noticed my stomache pokes pit a lot and i have gained 4 pounds but thenm i lose it, i gain weight but it dont stay with me not sure what is going on and how do you go from 98 to 102 in one day and then back to 98 the next day. or how do you go from 98 one night and 102 the next day. it used to stay at one weight but now i notice its going up and down on a daily basis

i have been off birth controll for a week ive noticed i feel blaoted alot and my weight goes up and down like 4 pounds in one day. im not even on my cycle and i am still haveing abdominal pain. i feel bloated a lot and i told my obgyn when i was haveing the 2 and 3 perious on birth controll they did a pelvic exam ultra sound it came back completely normal only thing that was found was overian cyst but not big ones or cancerous ones which is good.  my blood work is all normal.  the strange thing is i will get up to 103 then drop down to 98 i cant stay at 100 or above i wonder why this is i eat a lot and i eat a lot of fruits and stuff.  when my gastronintestional doc gave me meds for my irritable bowels syndrum it made me go to the bathroom 4 times a day but not dirreah form.   I dont have anymore meds and im trying to stay away from them, to see how i do i still find myself constipated somewhat. but i dont want to have to depend on stool softeners either.  I just dont knw why i cant maintain a certain weight i used to not have the problem . i had no signs of pelvic infection or endometreosis no polyps were found. im due for my freee pap smear in may we have that with our insurance through my work. but i might be changeing jobs but if i see that i still have 2 cycles off the pill then something is definitly not right.  i dont know why my stomache always looks bloated its not bad but i can tell and i can feel it and i still have the abdominal pain daily so im not sure what could be going on maybe its a side effect of going off birth controll

Hi,
Birth control pills do not cause weight loss. Also daily monitoring of weight is not essential and it will unnecessarily increase your anxiety. Since you are getting 2 to 3 periods in a month, you should consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Endometrial polyps, pelvic infection and ovarian cysts can cause such symptoms.
The weight loss can be due to irritable bowel syndrome. Now that you have started treatment and are also careful about your diet, your health should improve and so will your weight. It is also necessary to rule out chronic infections which can cause weight loss. Consult your Doctor.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
