condom failure?

Ok so recently i used a condom  that went through the laundry, dumb i know but i was a bit intoxicated and it was the only thing availible and i definately wanted to use protection. Also the condom was not expiered, now i do realize that this was not  proper storage and like i said i know that it was dumb to use it and normally i wouldn't have but it was the only option at the time.   Now upon a quick inspection the condom did not seem to have broken that i could visually see.  An when i removed the condom i also ran my 2 fingers down the outside from base to tip, when i got close to the tip the semen in the condom  moved up (from what i assumed was the  pressure  ) . i have also had 2 condoms break on me in the past an both times it was VERY obvious. I have read conflicting things on how obvious it is so any clrification or details would be appreciated... so my question is  2 parts , part 1 does it sound like i am safe from pregnancy? and part 2  when condoms do break/fail is it always VERY obvious ?
