how to be sure whether you are pregnant or not within  first 2 weeks of having sex?

Thanks for writing in this forum. Most chemical tests for pregnancy (like urine for pregnancy test)look for the presence of the beta subunit of hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin in the urine. hCG can be detected in urine after implantation of zygote in the wall of the uterus formed by the union of the sperm & the ovum, which occurs six to twelve days after fertilization.

But this hCG can be detected only if it is present in detectable amounts.So ideally urine for pregnancy test should be done when you miss your periods or 1 week after you miss your periods.But still if you want to test earlier for pregnancy,then you can test at 9 or 10 days past ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test.Aimstrip pregnancy test gives good results and can detect 20 mIU of HCG.

I sincerely suggest you to do a urine for pregnancy test and if the test comes negative,then please wait for your periods and repeat the test after 1 week of your missed periods date.

I wanted to know what was possibly going on with my body. Here is some history. I am 29yrs old biracial female (indian, black, puerto rican). I have PCOS and very few menstrual cycles through out the year. I am under the care of a high risk OB/GYN. He had me to take progesterone to have a period for 10 days (10 mg). Then I took 50mg clomid for 5 days beginning on day 3. I had three ultrasounds to monitor the folicles the first indicated that the foliciles were 15 & 17 mm, the second indicated that the foliciles were 18 & 20 mm so I was given an HCG shot (10,000 units) and then within 24-36 hours I ovulated (or at least I think I did due to all the pain and cramping).  I had sex with my husband as instructed 36 hours after receiving the shot and again 24 hours later.  The third ultrasound indicated that the foliciles ruptured and I ovulated. However, I am currently on Prometrium 200mg intravaginally and I have not had a period but my beta test indicated that my level was less than 2 so I am not pregnant and my progesterone level was less than 10. My last menstrual cycle was 8-6-09 and today is 9-10-09.  I would like to know what is going on with my body?

I'm on b\c and  sexual active. Had sex on the 8th had my period on the 11th (3days earlier) and had sex on the 15th and on the 17th(ment period time)I whipped to find clear browny red mucus. Havnt had anny since and don't know what it could be? Can I be pregnant but its to early for signs for recent sex?? !
