How long after you stop using birth control can u get pregnant?

It took us 2 months. I stopped taking birth control in July and got pregnant in September.

I been off since September 30 and i try at least twice a week. What if i say that my boyfriend smoke from time to time could that reduce his sperm and delay me getting pregnant?
