Hi there,
Unwanted 72 is known to cause irregular bleeding or spotting after taking it. Emergency contraceptive pill contains significantly higher doses of hormones. It contains progesterone and once the high dose you take in pill form as emergency contraceptive begins to rapidly decrease your body reacts by shedding the uterine lining it had prepared for pregnancy and you experience irregular bleeding. The hormonal imbalances produced due to the pill may cause spotting and bleeding. It can either delay your periods or prepone them.  If you do not get your periods in next few weeks it is suggested to take up pregnancy test. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. If the symptoms are severe and persistent it is best to consult a gynecologist. I sincerely hope it helps. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
