slightly concerned

I have had the hormone implant thats meant to last 3 years, it is now 2 1/2 years in and i havn't had a period until a few weeks ago. I was told this means that it could be wearing off. just wondering if anyone on here knows anything about it because i really dont want to end up pregnant at my age although me and my partner have been using condoms since it started im not completely trusting of them.
