WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY: This Patient-To-Patient Community is for discussions relating to Bleeding Disorders. There are many types of blood disorders, including: bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, hemophilia and anemia.
Last September 7 I had a Austin Bunionectomy on my right foot. I couldnt move my foot because I had 12 inch pins inserted. Now the bolttom part of my leg has gotten dark due to poor blood circulation. It itches and if I scratch it the meat rolls off. What should I do.
You need to consult a vascular specialist and attend a wound debridement clinic. Once the poor blood supply is restored, the area will heal. Often there is underlying infection which prevents healing and interrupts blood supply. Also, get your blood sugar estimated, both fasting and after food to rule out diabetes. Talk to your treating surgeon. Take care!
